Fiction is a mirror to life. It is a genre of consciousness and a specific depth of thought. Novel is not just a recreational sort of thing but it is the in-depth study of a nation's culture and civilization. Saleem Khan Gimmi's novel "Saanjh" has been discussed here in this research paper. The novel has been analyzed on research and analytical basis and an attempt has been made to find out that whether this novel fulfills the fundamental requirements of the genre alongwith presenting the true picture of pre-partition Punjab or not. The researcher will also analyse the place and value of this novel in Punjabi language and literature keeping in view the long prestigious tradition
