Abstract

Bani Sarokar Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is the ninth Guru of the Sikhs. His unparalleled martyrdom is an example not only in Sikhism but also in other religions. He was martyred in Chandni Chowk, Delhi. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's Bani Salok Mahla ੯ begins with Ang No. 1426 in Guru Granth Sahib and this Bani is complete on Ang 1429. It has 57 slokas. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji has shown social immortality through the form of spirituality in this Bani. Man has been forbidden from getting too involved with worldly things like wealth, attachment, wealth etc. and has mentioned that the entire life, from youth to old age, is spent in these things and yet, being busy in the pursuit of these things, man remains deprived of spirituality. The message has been given to man to connect with God. The message of connecting with God has been given to man to lead a happy and prosperous life while living in the world. In this Bani, there is a message of abandoning the five vices of lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego and condemnation, jealousy and eliminating ego, so that man can experience a spiritual and satisfying life. In this way, the vision of the formation and dissolution of bubbles from water has also been depicted as human life. In this Bani, there is also a mention of those friends of the world who are only with the times of happiness and leave the company in times of sorrow. Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji has presented the various concerns in human life in the verse of Salok Mahla
