Writing, reciting, and publishing Naʿat is, in every sense, a means of attaining blessings in this world and the Hereafter.The article “Some Selected Flowers from the Naʿat Garden” is a research-based piece in which the brief introductions of 23 Naʿat poets are presented along with one sample Naʿat from each.
In Sialkot, the tradition of composing Naʿat is very old, although the practice of compiling full Naʿat collections became common later. In this region, Naʿat writing has flourished as a heritage passed down through generations. Sialkot has produced Naʿat poets who created eight or even ten poetic collections. Among them, Muhammad Riaz Chaudhary has more than ten published Naʿat collections, while Hafiza Shabana Kausar has seven Urdu and three Punjabi Naʿat collections already in print.
This article presents the Naʿats of the following poets: Hafiz Barkhurdar Ranjha Chitti Sheikhan, Chaudhry Nawabuddin Gujjar, Muhammad Ayub Sabir, Muhammad Rafiq Aamil, Shabbir Billo Sarraf, Abdul Majeed Sabri, Khalid Mahmood Aasi, Mian Ahmad Deen Sajan Pasroori, Ashiq Hussain Randhawi, Muhammad Anees Tariq, Abdul Ghafoor Atif Sohalvi, Munawar Ahmed M.A., Tara Singh Aajiz, Nadeem Azhar Bajwa, Qamar Yazdani Panwanah, Hafiza Shabana Kausar Sahi, Shabbir Hussain Shabbir Sukhnavi, Asif Ali Alvi, Al-Haj Wasif Badianvi, Syed Zahid Hussain Bukhari, Professor Dr. Adil Siddiqi, Saeen Ehsanullah Bajwa and Aashiq Ali Faisal. All the Naʿats have been written in deep love and devotion to the Holy Prophet .صلى الله عليه وسلمAfter the introduction of each poet, one Naʿat from their work has been included.
