Abstract

Industrialization started in England in the 18th century, the beginning of the new era which diminished the old values of Humanism. Materialistic societies are the Production of this age. Now society has forgotten the golden traditions of civilization. Wealth has become a new value, and the law of the Jungle is the order of the day. Everyone is running behind money, wealth and power. This mechanical age has granted loneliness, greed. Selfishness, materialism to man. Noble values are old-fashioned and out- dated, as a result, frustration and disparity is dominant. The authors and the poets all over the world, being sensitive souls, are presenting these themes in literature to vex the world and reform societies. Punjabi poets of Ghazal have presented these themes in a beautiful way. This research paper will examine the above- mentioned fruit of industrialization and hollowness of society in Punjabi Ghazal with suitable instances
